Evaluation Question 3
What have you learnt from your audience feedback?
Our music video is to a song called ‘Drop Your Guard’ by
Jasmine Thompson.
Our
target audience is teenage girls around the ages
of 15-20 who would enjoy listening to indie pop music. It is mainly
female teenagers as we thought they might be able to relate to the
lyrics of the song.
I also thought teenage girls is an appropriate target
audience as we have aspects of make up and different costumes and this is usually the
interest of a teenage girl.
Our
music video may also attract any indie enthusiasts or
any body who has a particular interest in the artist as well as people
who enjoy watching music videos with different video genres such as
image, performance and narrative.
Wordle

To gain more audience feedback for our final product I
played 10 members of our target audience our song, and then asked them to write
down at least 5 ideas, images, key lyrics related to the song. Then I created
a wordle with all the key lyrics and words they wrote down.

Another
word that was shown to be repeated a lot was water, from this feedback
we introduced water into the music video, with the scene where the
artist jumps in a swimming pool. This relates to Goodwins Rule of
relationship with visuals and lyrics.

YouTube feedback

Interviews
The first audience feedback interviews we completed, were about there expectations of what my be in are music video. From the feedback, we made sure that we used multiple locations through the video as well as scene of performance, this also up the focus on the artist and her talent. We also made sure we had a variety of fast and slow pace editing.
The latest audience feedback interview was asking about all are ancillary products,
Facebook
We created a Facebook page for our music video, but we
didn’t really use it extremely that much during the making of our music video.
However, we still received 20 people liking the page. But once the music video
was finished we put the final product on Facebook, we received 9 likes on the
post, which we felt was good feedback, as people liked it. We also had a few
people share our video; this will increase the amount of people watching our
music video. I feel that if we put more stuff up on our page through the
process of making the music video, with rough cuts and planning stuff, I think
we could of received a lot more likes, views and gain more of a larger
audience.
The feedback we received from our on the digipack
Summary:
What went well:
What went well:
- Most of the feedback we received was positive
- Our audience were able to see an improvement from our rough cuts to the finished product.
- We received positive feedback from social media, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter.
- We used the constructive criticism and feedback and improved all our ancillary products.
Even Better If
- We collected more feedback from our target audience throughout the making of the music video and not just at the start and the end.
- I think we should of spent more time on the colours that we used on the digipack as we could of done that whole cover in black and white to make it more easy on the eye, than all the bright colours.
